It wasn't you.
Your skin changed.
The warmth and radiance you're missing can still come back after 40.
You blamed yourself.
You shouldn't have.
Your skin stopped behaving the way it used to. Duller. Drier. Makeup won't sit. The tan that was once foolproof now clings or stings.
It's not your age, and it's not you. I've stood at that mirror too. Your skin has simply changed, like it does for most of us. And it can be fixed.

7 signs your skin has changed,
and why none of them are your fault.
1. Your skin looks tired even when you feel fine
You catch yourself in the mirror looking washed out and a bit grey, even on a good day, and people start asking if you're getting enough sleep. It was never you slowing down. As hormones shift through perimenopause and menopause, skin makes less oil and holds less water, so it loses the natural warmth and light it used to have. A little warmth back in the complexion is often all it takes to look like yourself again. Your skin changed. The tan that fits it should change too.
2. Your tan started clinging to dry patches it never used to
You used to tan with no trouble. Now it grabs your knees, elbows and ankles and goes dark and patchy while the rest stays pale, and you assume you've lost the knack. You haven't. Hormonal change leaves skin drier, and the colour (DHA) reacts hardest with dry, dead skin, so it clings to those dry spots, and harsh alcohols (Alcohol Denat, SD Alcohol) in older tans dry you out even more. Which is why a tan now has to hydrate first and colour second.
3. It settles into your lines, and you blame your age
You put it on hoping to look fresher, and instead it sinks into the lines on your hands and around your eyes, so you look more tired, not less. It feels like proof you're getting older. It isn't. Tan naturally settles more heavily wherever skin is dry, and as skin changes and loses hydration, those lines simply start to show up more. This was never proof you're aging. It's proof your tan stopped fitting your skin.
4. You are reaching for more foundation, not less
You find yourself piling on more makeup just to look awake, when you used to leave the house with barely any. It isn't your fault. When skin loses its glow and evenness through hormonal change, makeup has more to cover and sits less well. Bring radiance and even warmth back to the skin itself, and most women reach for far less foundation.
5. Your skin looks more washed out than it used to
Your skin looks paler and flatter than it did, even on a good day, and it can feel as though the warmth has gone out of your complexion, even though you feel perfectly well. Losing that warm, healthy tone is one of the most common signs of changing skin, and it isn't a sign of anything wrong. A soft, believable warmth across the skin brings that vitality straight back.
6. The tan you used to love doesn't suit you anymore
You reach for the one you trusted for years, and it just doesn't look right on you now. The colour sits flat, fades fast, or comes out muddy, and you wonder if you got a bad batch. You didn't. The tan hasn't changed, your skin has, so a formula made for the skin you used to have no longer fits the skin you have today. The tan didn't let you down. Your skin changed, and it stopped fitting you.
7. You gave up tanning your face altogether
On your face a normal tan broke you out and faded in a day or two, worst around your nose and chin, so you stopped putting it anywhere near your face. Your face makes more oil and renews faster than your body, and the heavy, pore-blocking oils (coconut oil, mineral oil) in body formulas just sit in your pores. It was never that your face can't glow, it just needed its own light, oil-free product. Your face can still glow. It just needed a product made for skin that has changed.
Most tans ignore how skin changes.
This one was built for it.

BLOOM TANNING MOUSSE (DARK OR MEDIUM) 150ML
A lightweight, fast-drying mousse designed for sensitive, hormonal and mature skin.
I made it for the skin I was living in.
"When I hit my 40s, I noticed the same changes so many women talk about today. My skin felt drier, more reactive, and products I'd trusted for years just stopped performing the way they used to.
After more than 20 years in skincare research, formulation and manufacturing, I started making products for the skin I was actually living in.
Bloom came out of that.
The result is a glow routine made to work with changing skin, helping it look healthy, comfortable and naturally radiant."
